Modern country garden
This 1970's house has been revamped to have a clean, modern feel and the garden wraps around the light and airy kitchen. The fences and walls were painted a dark grey to echo the bifold doors and to enhance the planting.
For privacy pleached crab apples have been planted along the wall of the kitchen garden which produce a mass of orange crab apples which the birds feast on through the winter. The kitchen garden is then enclosed with espalier fruit trees. The sheltered garden is planted for year round interest with beech and pittosporum for structure and with a mixture of roses, perennials, ferns and grasses with lots of spring bulbs.
